New Monarto Zoo tour on Murray Princess Cruise


Captain Cook Cruises has added an exciting new on shore tour to their Murray Princess three-night Discovery Cruise and seven-night Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise with guests able to visit Monarto Zoo on a Wildlife Tour from April 1, 2017.

Monarto Zoo is the largest open-range zoo in the world, spanning more than 1,500 hectares and home to more than 500 animals and 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles.

Murray Princess guests will be transferred from Murray Bridge to Monarto Zoo by coach where they will be led by a guide through the zoo to see many of the zoos inhabitants including Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, White Rhinoceros, Cheetah, Lions, Hyena and Wild Dogs as part of the Wildlife Tour.

The Monarto Zoo Wildlife Tour is priced at $60 per person and is available every Saturday morning on the three and seven night Murray Princess cruises.

Other three and seven-night cruise activities include visiting Murray Bridge township and Mannum Dock Museum, a guided nature walk at Salt Bush Flat, a river and birdlife tour on board the 'Dragon-Fly' Flat Bottomed Boat, local food and wine tastings, music quizzes, bocce on the riverbank and even fishing off the ship.

Additional seven-night cruise activities include visiting the sacred Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Conservation Park, Sunnydale native wildlife shelter, Burk Salter Boutique Winery, Swan Reach, passing through lock 1 at Blanchetown and seeing the Sunnydale woolshed and towering sandstone cliffs at Big Bend. Optional tours available at additional cost include a Nocturnal Tour and a Bush Tucker Breakfast.

The three-night Discovery Cruise departs Mannum every Friday at 4.30pm with Early Booking Saver (EBS) fares starting from AU$787.00 per person, twin share.

The seven night Murraylands and Wildlife Cruise departs Mannum every Friday and Monday at 4.30pm with EBS prices starting from AU$1605.00 per person, twin share including a complimentary Barossa Valley tour.

Prices include accommodation, all meals, guided nature walks, eco-excursions, onboard presentations, onboard WiFi, the Captain's Dinner and Cocktail Party, live entertainment, use of ship's facilities including a sauna, spa, sun deck, bar, two lounges, restaurant and mini gymnasium and complimentary scenic coach transfers from and to Adelaide or secure car-parking in Mannum and post cruise coach transfer to Adelaide airport.

Private car transfers for up to four people are also available from and to Adelaide CBD to Mannum and return to Adelaide Airport for $143 per person each way, based on two people travelling.
