Captain Cook Whale Watching Cruise & Taronga Zoo Combo

Captain Cook Cruises have partnered with Taronga Zoo to offer the ultimate Sydney wildlife package for animal lovers – a Taronga Zoo and Whale Watching Cruise Combo deal operating daily until 01 November 2017.

Start the day on a relaxing rocket ferry from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour to Taronga Zoo, enjoying some of the famous Sydney Harbour sights along the way.

On arrival at Taronga Zoo, catch the Sky Safari Cable car to the top of the park before spending the morning visiting the Zoo's 4,000 animals, including the new Asian elephant male calf. Other Zoo enclosures include the Sumatran Tigers, Koala's, Australian Sea Lions, Chimpanzees, Giraffe's and many more. There are also keeper talks and animal shows to see throughout the morning.

Then departing from Taronga Zoo Wharf, spend the afternoon on the Captain Cook Whale Watching Cruise. This fantastic open-water cruise passes through the Harbour headlands and into the open water where the excitement begins.

Your guide will provide expert commentary on the variety of marine life including Humpbacks, Southern Rights, Orcas and Minke whales, seals, albatross and fairy penguins. Dolphins nearly always accompany the cruise, with some pods numbering up to 100 individuals.

According to Ecological Consultant and Captain Cook Cruises Marine Commentator, David James, 2017 is already proving to be a fantastic whale season.

"The season has only begun and we are already seeing a lot of Whale activity including many juveniles on their first migration, eager to show off for our passengers.

We have been mugged, with whales swimming up to the vessel, and we've seen whales double breaching, arched backs, blows and pectoral slaps. Pods of dolphins, seals and albatrosses have also been spotted." Continues Mr James.

With over 95% whale sighting success, Captain Cook Cruises offers every passenger a whale guarantee; if a whale is not spotted, passengers can cruise again for free.

Whale watching cruises are onboard ocean-going catamaran, "Maggie Cat", fully equipped with two passenger decks, spacious outdoor and indoor viewing areas and an all-weather lounge, ideal for the entire family.  Snacks and soft drinks can also be purchased on-board.

Taronga Zoo and Whale Watching Cruise Combo's are $99 per adult and $55 per child and includes a rocket ferry to Taronga Zoo from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour, entry into the zoo, Sky Safari cable car and a Whale Watching Cruise departing from Taronga Zoo Wharf, returning to Circular Quay.

Rocket ferries to Taronga Zoo depart Circular Quay and Darling Harbour in the morning from 9.15am with services every 30 minutes. The Whale Watching Cruise departs from Taronga Zoo Wharf at 1.40pm and disembarks at Circular Quay at 4.15pm.

5. The Biggest River in Asia

The mighty Yangtze holds the title of Asia's longest river, and is the third longest in the world, at 3915 miles. Flowing from its source amongst the cloud-piercing mountains of the Tibetan plateau to its mouth in the East China Sea, near Shanghai, it's the lifeblood of the people who live on its banks. Jaw dropping karst scenery awaits for those who travel its banks. Save $500 per person.

4. Highest Mountain in the World

Towering Mount Everest peaks 8,848 metres above sea level, and creates the international border between Tibet and Nepal at its summit. Its first official ascent was in 1953 by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary. A typical hike to base camp takes about 10 days up – but on the 21-day Himalayan Adventure Tour, you'll drive to this majestic spot, inhale the views, and retreat to the warmth of your vehicle. Bliss, without the blisters. Priced from $7,780 per person twin share all inclusive. Save $500 per person.

3. The World's Biggest City

Buzzing brighter than a mosquito around the porch light, Tokyo is a city on steroids, awash with colour and energy. A staggering 33 million people live in Tokyo, and the city hosts more millionaires than any other city! Be mesmerised by Tokyo drink sake in Takayama, and take tea in Kyoto on the 14-day Discover Japan tour, also visiting Mt Fuji, Kanazawa and Osaka. From $10,560 per person twin share all inclusive. 2. World's Most Populous Country

At a huge 1,388 billion people, China takes the cake as the world's most populous country in 2017. Hot in its heels, India awaits at 1,34 billion. But for a country as large as China, there's a huge amount of countryside to explore, with a huge 94% of its population on the east coast. Head into the less densely populated areas of Yunnan, Tibet, and the Silk Road city of Kashgar in Xinjian, and a different China emerges. Culturally diverse, with up to 55 distinct minority cultures, these outer areas offer visitors staggering beauty, a rich tradition and a welcoming inquisitive nature.  Explore China's diverse population on the 27-day Silk Road Explorer, from $6,980 per person twin share. Save $500 per person.

1.       World's Most Daily Train Passengers.

Travelling India by train is an experience in itself, with 65,000 km's of tracks and 8 billion passengers transported across 19,000 trains. Every. Single. Day. A kaleidoscope of colour and spices, the ancient forts of Agra and bustling bazaars of old Delhi await to be explored on the 19-day Essence of India tour, that includes a journey on the Shatabdi Express train en route to the Khajuraho Temples. Priced from $10,050 per person twin share all inclusive.  Save $300 per person.

Notable Mention

Of course, there's one other "Big" we neglected to include, mainly because it's just so obvious. The Longest Wall in the World - the Great Wall of China - is an astonishing 3460km long, and can be seen and/or hiked on many of the China tours in this sale.

As with all Wendy Wu Tours, these great value packages are seamless, including air from any Australian capital city, transfers, accommodation, visas, meals and touring – as well as a dedicated National Escort or Guide.
