HIGH FIVE FOR BUSHMANS KLOOF WITH TOP GLOBAL TOURISM ACCOLADES
The industry has tipped its hat, awarding Bushmans Kloof no less than five coveted tourism accolades during the latter part of this year to mark a pinnacle in the global reputation of Bushmans Kloof.
Bushmans Kloof has been selected among the world's finest hotels in the Forbes Traveller 400 Best Hotels for 2008/9, as determined by a selection board of 79 distinguished luxury-travel experts. At the same time, it has been named among the Top 50 Africa Resorts in the prestigious US Conde Nast Traveler World's Best Awards 2008, and was listed by National Geographic Adventure Magazine as one of the world's Top 50 Eco Lodges for 2008.
Locally, it won the Top Tourist Facility on the West Coast for 2008 category in South Africa's third annual West Coast Tourism Gala Awards. With criteria including capturing a unique West Coast experience, benefits to the community; and the number of jobs and the extent of business generated for the West Coast, this pays homage to the vital role Bushmans Kloof plays as the premier wildlife destination and as a prominent, responsible tourism entity in the West Coast region, which stretches over 400km north of Cape Town.
And finally, another award following on the Diners Club International Wine List of the Year Diamond Award (2008), Bushmans Kloof received earlier this year, Kadoro, the refurbished sheperd's cottage in the heart of the reserve, made it to the top of the list of Top Ten Experiences for 2008 on premier tour operator, New Frontiers Tours' coveted list. Kadoro may be booked as an 'extraordinary dining experience' for private groups of up to 12 guests, or a romantic dinner for two.
Less than three hours' drive from Cape Town, Bushmans Kloof is a 7500-hectare, five-star ecological oasis, and provides sanctuary to many endangered species of flora and fauna. It is also home to over 130 San Bushman rock art sites and is recognized as one of South Africa's Natural Heritage sites.
