It's easy being green at the Old Bus Depot Markets

It's easy being green at the Old Bus Depot Markets

Canberra's nationally award winning markets, the Old Bus Depot Markets, will again be hosting its environmentally focused theme day, Green Savvy Sunday, on Sunday 16 September 2012.

Now in its third year, Green Savvy Sunday shows just how easy it is to be green in our day to day lives.  From beautiful products made with recycled materials, to demonstrations of the latest in green technology for the home, this event is perfect for the environmentally conscious consumer.

"As Canberra's first interactive market dedicated to sustainability for the home, visitors to Green Savvy Sunday will discover the latest and greatest products, programs and techniques to help reduce our carbon footprint," said Old Bus Depot Markets Director, Morna Whiting.

"There will be products made using low energy or organic techniques, delicious organic food to enjoy, information on relevant initiatives — all types of green products and displays to inspire and encourage people to embrace a more sustainable way of living," she continued.

There will be an additional 30 stalls for Green Savvy Sunday, including newcomer Kay Saarinen from Saarinen Organics.  Offering a range of chemical-free skin care products incorporating certified organic ingredients, Kay grows and harvests her own herbs and makes her creams and ointments from scratch.

Also attending Green Savvy Sunday will be WWOOF — Willing Workers on Organic Farms.  WWOOF is a worldwide movement linking volunteers with organic farmers and growers.  WWOOF members participate in organic farm-stays, undertaking voluntary work in exchange for their keep and helping to build a sustainable global community.
