Captain Cook Cruises Popular Whale Watching Cruise Back in 2012

After 989 whales were spotted in the 2011 Whale Watching season plus hundreds of dolphins and fur seals, Captain Cook Cruises is back again in 2012 with daily Whale Watching cruises operating from 18 May until 31 October and offering a Whale guarantee or cruise again for free!

Captain Cook Cruises Whale Watching cruises takes passengers past the Sydney Opera House, Fort Denison and all the beautiful homes located in the bays of Sydney Harbour and out through the heads onto the open waters. Here the direction of the vessel is totally dependent on where the whales have been sighted - north towards Manly or south towards Coogee. Most whales are found within 2kms of shore.

The number of Humpback and Southern Right whales passing through Sydney on their annual northern migration between Antarctica and the Great Barrier Reef, is expected to reach its traditional peak around the Winter Solstice on June 22nd.

After calving in the northern waters between August and September, the whales will then again head south past Sydney, making their long journey back to Antarctica.

Passengers will be able to spot the whales onboard ocean-catamarans, featuring two decks both with spectacular open-air viewing and a comfortable inside all-weather lounge for the entire family.

Captain Cook Cruises offers a whale guarantee. If a whale is not sighted during the cruise, passengers can cruise again for free.

Whale Watching cruises depart daily from Darling Harbour at 9.30am returning at 1.30pm, from Jetty 6 Circular Quay at 10.00am returning at 1.00pm, and from Manly at 10.30am returning at 12.30pm.

An additional Whale Watching cruise operates on Saturday and Sunday from Darling Harbour at 1.30pm returning at 5.00pm and from Circular Quay at 2.00pm returning at 4.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased from No.6 Jetty Circular Quay and Pier 26, Aquarium Wharf, Darling Harbour or online at www.captaincook.com.au and are priced at adults $79, concession $65, child (5-14) $50 and family (2ad+2ch) $215 including coffee, tea and biscuits
