Captain Cook Whale Watching Cruise & Taronga Zoo Combo

Captain Cook Cruises have partnered with Taronga Zoo to offer the ultimate Sydney wildlife package for animal lovers – a Taronga Zoo and Whale Watching Cruise Combo deal operating daily until 01 November 2017.

Start the day on a relaxing rocket ferry from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour to Taronga Zoo, enjoying some of the famous Sydney Harbour sights along the way.

On arrival at Taronga Zoo, catch the Sky Safari Cable car to the top of the park before spending the morning visiting the Zoo's 4,000 animals, including the new Asian elephant male calf. Other Zoo enclosures include the Sumatran Tigers, Koala's, Australian Sea Lions, Chimpanzees, Giraffe's and many more. There are also keeper talks and animal shows to see throughout the morning.

Then departing from Taronga Zoo Wharf, spend the afternoon on the Captain Cook Whale Watching Cruise. This fantastic open-water cruise passes through the Harbour headlands and into the open water where the excitement begins.

Your guide will provide expert commentary on the variety of marine life including Humpbacks, Southern Rights, Orcas and Minke whales, seals, albatross and fairy penguins. Dolphins nearly always accompany the cruise, with some pods numbering up to 100 individuals.

According to Ecological Consultant and Captain Cook Cruises Marine Commentator, David James, 2017 is already proving to be a fantastic whale season.

"The season has only begun and we are already seeing a lot of Whale activity including many juveniles on their first migration, eager to show off for our passengers.

We have been mugged, with whales swimming up to the vessel, and we've seen whales double breaching, arched backs, blows and pectoral slaps. Pods of dolphins, seals and albatrosses have also been spotted." Continues Mr James.

With over 95% whale sighting success, Captain Cook Cruises offers every passenger a whale guarantee; if a whale is not spotted, passengers can cruise again for free.

Whale watching cruises are onboard ocean-going catamaran, "Maggie Cat", fully equipped with two passenger decks, spacious outdoor and indoor viewing areas and an all-weather lounge, ideal for the entire family.  Snacks and soft drinks can also be purchased on-board.

Taronga Zoo and Whale Watching Cruise Combo's are $99 per adult and $55 per child and includes a rocket ferry to Taronga Zoo from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour, entry into the zoo, Sky Safari cable car and a Whale Watching Cruise departing from Taronga Zoo Wharf, returning to Circular Quay.

Rocket ferries to Taronga Zoo depart Circular Quay and Darling Harbour in the morning from 9.15am with services every 30 minutes. The Whale Watching Cruise departs from Taronga Zoo Wharf at 1.40pm and disembarks at Circular Quay at 4.15pm.
