THE SECRET PAINTINGS
Coming soon to Sydney’s Art Gallery of NSW is Hilma af Klint: The Secret Paintings. More than a century ago, Swedish artist af Klint (1862-1944) created paintings unlike anything that had come before. Believing her abstract works wouldn’t be understood until modern times, she instructed that her artworks be kept from public view, awaiting future generations. Now you have the chance to encounter her other-worldly paintings in Sydney, when the first survey in the Asia-Pacific exhibits 12 June to 19 September.
