Canadian Flavours To Savor At The Reflexions

The palate awakens to delightfully different gastronomic perspectives.

Canadian culinary inspirations colour a specially created five-course menu with wine pairings offered at the celebrated The Reflexions contemporary French fine dining restaurant, Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel from Tuesday 23 – Saturday 27 September.

Canadian Beef, Pearl Onions, Parsley Stalks

Savvy diners are invited to indulge in flavours and textures of foods sourced from pristine land, river and ocean environments to which are applied the award-winning creativity of the restaurant’s exceptional Chef de Cuisine, Daniel Bucher, and his hand-picked team.

Canadian cuisine poses a rich diversity of possibilities, from the French-Canadian gourmet tradition to British Canadian classics and traditional North American Indian inspirations. Wild game, great beef vegetables and herbs and superb seafood from the country’s Pacific and Atlantic coasts are all brought to the table for indulgence and enjoyment.

As much and more is reflected in The Reflexions ‘Enjoy Canada – Savour the Flavours’ menu which starts with a daily changing Amuse Bouche and follows with two appetizers: Ocean salad of Manila Clams + Canadian sea urchin and Smoked Canadian oyster in potato foam. A choice of main courses is offered, namely, Canadian wild salmon, wild rice + cranberries OR Canadian Beef, pearl onions + parsley stalks. The dessert, meanwhile, features the national symbol of Canada, maple creatively combined with fresh wild berries.

Intriguingly complementing this journey north in search of culinary discoveries are some of Canada’s wines that have won international acclaim. They include three selections from the fabled Okanagan Valley, namely: Steller’s Jay Brut, a fine sparkling wine with notes of white peach and golden hues; a Merlot that weaves intricate flavours of plum, cassis and fresh tobacco, and; Cabernet Franc Icewine, offering the richness of blackberry, cherry and spiced plums. Also specially featured is Mission Hill Family Estate Classic Riesling with its aromas of tangerine, peach and pears.

Such a happy confluence of culinary talent, finest produce, intriguing wines and stylish venue is not to be missed. Advance reservations are thoroughly recommended.
