Shangri-La Hotel Sydney Showcases Flavours of the Philippines

Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has joined forces with the Philippine Department of Tourism and Philippine Airlines to bring back the popular Philippine Food Week.



The hotel's all day dining restaurant Café Mix will showcase the exotic flavours of the Philippines as a part of Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, from Saturday, 11 to Sunday 19 October.



Shangri-La Hotel, Makati in Manila will send Executive Sous Chef Gene Del Prado and two of his kitchen stars to Sydney courtesy of Philippine Airlines and Philippine Department of Tourism. The trio will add a unique authentic flair to much-loved Filipino dishes including Kare-Kare, Pork Sisig, Chicken Inasal and Lechon to name a few.

Executive Chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney Steve Krasicki said that the festival was one of the most eagerly anticipated events hosted at the hotel each year. “Philippine Food Week is undoubtedly one of the most popular events to takes place at the hotel, with over two thousand locals attending the event in 2013.

“It is a great opportunity to celebrate the nation's unique culture, alongside Philippine Department of Tourism, who work closely with Philippine Airlines and Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Manila. It's a real showcase event for the Philippine community.”

Philippine Food Week buffet lunch is available for $55 per person Monday to Friday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, and from 12:30pm to 2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Buffet dinner is available all week from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for $75 per person.
