Explore the ancient realms of Europe on this nine day voyage on board Silversea's Silver Cloud.
Departing Barcelona on 11 April 2015, Silver Cloud will voyage to Monte Carlo for an overnight stay, where guests can explore this glamorous destination, including the world-famous Place du Casino, Monaco Cathedral and Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Crossing into Italy, Silver Cloud will stop in Rome (Civitavecchia), before beginning her journey down the Amalfi Coast. Silver Cloud will spend a night in Sorrento, a town spread along cliffs, before sailing to Amalfi, a celebrated area, covered with bougainvillea and colourful villas. The final port of call in Italy is Taormina, located on the east coast of the island of Sicily, on the side of a mountain dotted with medieval churches, a stunning Greek theatre and sweeping views over the Gulf of Naxos.
Sailing into Greece, Silver Cloud will visit the city of Olympia (Katakolon), a sacred archaeological site where the inaugural Olympic Games were hosted in 776 B.C. Silver Cloud will then continue to Itea, the gateway to Delphi, one of the world's most intriguing and best-preserved ancient sites, before navigating the Corinth Canal. With cliffs bordering either side of the canal, and due to the narrow width of just 21.5 metres, the canal is impassable for many cruise ships, providing a unique experience for Silver Cloud guests. Silver Cloud will spend her final night in Athens (Piraeus), where guests can explore the surrounding architectural treasures, including the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, before disembarking on 20 April 2015.
