Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel rocks as it celebrates its first birthday

Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan ('ibis Sheung Wan') will mark its first anniversary this October as it taps into the social media sphere to create market buzz among worldwide travellers, the Sheung Wan community, travel & lifestyle bloggers and online socialistas.

Officially opened for business on 24 October, 2012, the 550-room ibis Sheung Wan has been welcoming more than 270,000 guests from all over the world including 10,000 more Le Club Accorhotels members, the loyalty program run by Accor. In terms of business performance, the Hotel's year-to-date occupancy rate has reached an average of 88% in 2013 (as of 31 August, 2013) with average room rate superseding the industry benchmark by 7.5% within the same hotel category reflected from the Hong Kong Hotels Association hotel performance statistics.

Located in the bustling Sheung Wan showcasing a unique mix of urban landscape and Hong Kong heritage, ibis Sheung Wan becomes a catchy icon shining all the way through.  Less than a year's lifespan, the Hotel has scooped three awards namely Best Mid-range City Hotel of China by The 8th China Hotel Starlight Awards, Highly Commended in New Hotel Construction & Design by The International Hotel Awards 2013 as well as Design Excellence in Hotel Architecture by HA+D Awards 2012.
