Mike Brady ‘Burns The Bitumen’ On European Road Tour

Celebrated songwriter, radio identity and travel ‘tragic’, Mike Brady, will host his second Tour De Europe in July, 2014.

Departing from Munich on July 7th, the 18 night ‘Ultimate Road Trip’ will cover ten countries before returning to Germany and its capital, Berlin.  After leaving Germany, the group will travel through the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

The escorted, self-drive Tour De Europe was first held in 2012.  Its success is confirmed by the number of travellers who have rebooked for next year’s event.  The 2014 event is a guaranteed departure as a result of the number of confirmed early bookings, but will be capped to a maximum of 40 people.

Tour Director, Harry Cadle*, said that travelling Europe by road, especially in the company of others, is the best way to maximise the experience.

“River cruising is a great alternative but you are restricted to activities along or close to the riverbank,” he said.  “Bus touring is tiring and there is no flexibility, whereas travelling by road allows you to stop where you want, divert off the main roads when you want, and discover things that organised tours won’t allow.

“We only use brand new, GPS-enabled vehicles which are fully insured by Citroen DriveEurope, so you are getting luxury, safety and support along the entire route.

Mike Brady, a popular host on Melbourne radio 3AW and singer/songwriter of the AFL anthem, ‘Up There Cazaly’, said one of the great advantages of an escorted self-drive tour is that people can travel in convoy or “do their own thing” before meeting up at the hotel at night.  Based on the 2012 experience, more two night stays and 5-star hotels along the route have been added.

The cost for accommodation, car lease, all breakfasts and selected other meals are from $9,250 per person based on twin share.  Vehicle and accommodation upgrades are available.  Also included is a tour guide book, clothing and an experienced Tour Director.  *Harry Cadle is one of Australia’s most experienced road event specialists who ran the Victorian Variety ‘Bash’ for 16 years, making it one of the most popular in Australia.  He also designed and ran the Variety International ‘Bash’.

People with limited mobility are welcome.  The Tour Director holds Level 2 First Aid Qualifications.

Vehicles can be returned to Citroen at Frankfurt or tour participants can take advantage of extra free days of car hire if they wish to continue travelling, (applicable if booked before 31st March.)
