Cycle Tours Global Celebrates Australia Day and the Santos Tour Down Under with.... New Victorian Rail Trail Ride

Cycle Tours Global - the world’s most comprehensive website for bike tours – is marking Australia Day
Victorian rail ride4and the nation’s top cycling event – the Santos Tour Down Under – by adding to the site a new week-long cycling tour tracing three rail trails in Victoria’s north-east mountain country.

Ranked as the biggest cycling race in the southern hemisphere, the Santos Tour Down Under in Adelaide and regional South Australia from January 19 until Australia Day this month draws some of the world’s top bike racers.
Far easier is the new Three Trails Trilogy ride in Victoria which has been added to the Australian-designed Cycle Tours Global portal of 5500 bike tours around the world. Graded as easy, the seven-day tour covers a total of 258km along disused railways that have been turned into cycling and walking trails including the High Country Rail Trail, Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and the new Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail. And because you’re riding along former rail routes, the inclines are gentle!
Starting at Lake Hume in Wodonga on the NSW/Victorian border on March 30, 2014, the itinerary visits Beechworth, Bright, Mansfield and Lake Eildon before ending in Tallarook in the Goulburn Valley north of Melbourne.

The tour includes motel accommodation along the route, daily breakfasts, town and luggage transfers, a winery lunch during the ride, a celebration dinner on the final night and a commemorative ride jersey and T-shirt. Bike hire is also available as an optional extra. Operated by Rail Trail Bike Tours, the Three Trails Trilogy tour is available from $1950 per person, twin-share.
