Ride a Motorbike Along the Roof of the World – 1400m Above the Height of Aircraft Pressurisation

A guided motorbike expedition across Tibet – the roof of the world – to the world’s highest mountain this September will take adventure riders 1400m above the height aircraft require pressurisation.

Led by ‘mad’ Englishman, Zander Combe, expedition operator, Extreme Bike Tours, is offering a five per cent discount for its 14-day Tibet tour departing Kathmandu on September 21, 2014.
Road to Everest2Tracing some of the world’s highest roads, the adrenalin tour through the Himalayas will take motorcycle riders and pillion passengers across Tibet to Everest Base Camp which is 5200m above sea level, or 1400m above the height at which aircraft require pressurisation.
The route will see riders freewheeling across the remote and treeless expanse of the lofty Tibetan plateau on classic Royal Enfield 500cc motorbikes, with the itinerary also including the Dalai Lama’s spectacular Potala Palace in Lhasa and remote Tibetan villages and monasteries.
Including a five per cent discount for bookings made before April 7, 2014, the two-week expedition is now available from US$5273 (a saving of $277) for licensed riders and US$4513 ($237 saving) for pillion passengers riding behind friends or crew or in support vehicles.
Fares include accommodation in hotels and guesthouses along the route as well as all meals, fuel and the support of sherpas and bike mechanics during the trip. Flights from Australia are extra, with Air India offering direct Dreamliner Boeing 787 flights between Australia and Delhi, with connections to Kathmandu.
Featured on TV’s ‘Top Gear’ program, in 2011, Extreme Bike Tours is based in India and owned by former Englishman and adrenalin junkie, Zander Combe. Up to 80 per cent of riders are from Australia and New Zealand.
For bookings, visit www.extremebiketours.com, email info@extremebiketours.com or call + 91 96653 77344 and quote the five per cent discount offer.
New videos of previous rides to Tibet are now available on www.extremebiketours.com, with ‘virtual saddle’ links also available to track current tours in India and beyond.
