Perth Domestic Airport, Ground Floor
The much anticipated Virgin Blue "The Lounge" is now open for business at Perth Airport, signalling a new, convenient and comfortable era for business and leisure Guests travelling to and from West Australia.
Plans for the airline to build a brand new 500 square metre lounge facility were announced last year following overwhelming support from Virgin Blue business Guests in particular, for a corporate lounge.
The Lounge has seating capacity for over 120 Guests and will be officially opened this evening at 6pm with a cocktail party for VIP Guests to showcase the new offering.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, said: "This evening's formal opening is timed to coincide with the return to work of the business market and the ongoing momentum of the resource sector. It is the continued support of WA based business travellers and mining industry community, together with their east coast counterparts travelling across the Nullabor regularly, that was the catalyst for this significant investment."
"While it's been a long time coming, we are pleased travellers now have a fantastic lounge to work or relax in whether they are travelling during the day or on one of the evening flights after a long day on the job."
Brett Godfrey added, "The team at Weststralia Airport Corporation (WAC) has been a great partner, working closely with our team in the mutual quest to further enhance services at Perth Airport."
West Australia has been a core focus for the Virgin Blue team over the past 12 months, with new intrastate flights between Perth and Karratha, Port Hedland and Newman and additional Broome services.
The Lounge in Perth is located on the ground floor of the Virgin Blue terminal, immediately through the security screening point and is the sixth Virgin Blue "The Lounge" facility to be opened throughout Australia. It provides a range of services for both business and leisure travellers, including business facilities for those who want to continue working while they are on the move, as well as a range of options to sit back and relax in front of either HD plasma TVs, or catch up on the latest news and gossip from a selection of newspapers and magazines.
The Lounge also offers a range of complimentary food and beverages. Guests will have a choice of premium beverages and complimentary gourmet snacks. Morning, midday and evening refreshments will be available daily along with made-to-order Barrista fair trade coffee, organic fair-trade tea, hot chocolate and a choice of gourmet sweet snacks.
