Hear the Roar at the First Korean Grand Prix
Sportsnet Holidays, one of Australia’s largest sporting tour companies based in Melbourne is offering packages to the 2010 Korean F1 Grand Prix to be held on 24 October in Yeongam county, in the south-west corner of Korea. It will be the first time that the F1 Grand Prix tour includes Korea.
The brand new Korean F1 Grand Prix race-track in Yeongam County will have Asia’s longest straight stretch (1.2km) which will allow for speeds of up to 320km per hour. The circuit is being constructed on 425acres of reclaimed land alongside an artificial seaside lake.
The Korea International Circuit has added elements of Korean traditional design to the state-of-the-art motor sports facilities. The Grand Stand has a roof structure resembling the eaves of hanoks (traditional Korean styled houses). The circuit will accommodate 130,000 spectators at one time and is the largest of Korea’s domestic sports facilities in scale.
The Korean F1 Grand Prix circuit will run in a counter-clockwise direction whereas most F1 circuits run in a clockwise direction. However, some track circuits such as Turkey, Brazil, Singapore, Valencia, Abu Dhabi run in the anti-clockwise direction providing drivers with a new physical challenge and thus providing viewers with double the excitement.
If you are interested in participating in the Korean F1 Grand Prix, Sportsnet Holidays can assist with return airfares, accommodation and grandstand tickets for the first ever F1 Grand Prix to be held in Korea.
