Sydneysiders and visitors to Sydney are invited to catch a piece of history and make their own special memories by travelling on the Monorail before it’s gone.

After 25 years of service as one of Sydney’s most iconic tourist attractions, the Sydney Monorail will be closing on 30 June this year.

Opened in July 1988 as a Bicentennial gift to Sydney, the Monorail has become a ‘must-see’ and ‘must-do’ experience for visitors to the city. One of only a few city monorails in the world, it offers unrivalled views of Sydney and connects the city's top shopping and hotels with Darling Harbour's dynamic attractions.

The 3.6 kilometre Monorail loop includes seven stations (Harbourside, Convention, Paddy’s Market, World Square, Galleries Victoria, City Centre and Darling Park) which are located inside buildings, over freeways, at hotels and near a broad selection of the city’s major tourist attractions. A ride on the Monorail offers the perfect combination of easy transport with an essential Sydney city experience.

To add to this unique Sydney experience and to commemorate the Monorail’s 25 year history, Sydneysiders and visitors can explore Sydney Monorail Memorabilia, 25 Reason to Ride, Current Highlights, What’s On and Competitions by visiting www.monorail.com.au/
