This Mother’s Day, Swissôtel Sydney has unveiled a grand lunch experience for guests at Crossroads Bar, a contemporary reimagining of the traditional hotel bar, where modern design meets classic style in an open-plan dining area, completed by intimate dining pods; all part of a recent refurbishment by Sydney-based design firm, CHADA.

Joshua Askew, Executive Chef, is designing a vibrant selection of locally sourced, seasonally inspired cuisine, with a conscientious emphasis on sustainable produce - one of the cornerstones of the Swissôtel dining experience. Guests can expect a sumptuous mix of Australian native produce, artfully mingled in a variety of modern flavours.

Guests are invited to make Mother’s Day an extra special treat this year, with an exclusive macaroon bar created by Swissôtel Sydney's talented pastry team, including Head Pastry Chef Tracy Allesina. Guests can mix and match classic (or unexpected!) flavours to create their own unique macaroons.

Kids will also enjoy a fun chocolate workshop where they can make their own chocolate gifts. It’s a decadent experience for the whole family!

The event is scheduled from 12.30pm-3.30pm at Crossroads Bar.

Celebrate Mother's Day with an Exquisite Afternoon Tea

Join The Hotel Windsor this Mother's Day (Sunday 8, May) and celebrate with your loved ones over an exquisite Afternoon Tea in Melbourne's most cherished grand hotel. With reservations held up to a year in advance, it is the dining destination choice on such a special occasion.

The Hotel Windsor has been serving its lauded afternoon tea since 1883, creating favourites such as exquisite French pastries, savoury finger sandwiches and canapés, freshly baked scones, all beautifully presented on traditional three-tiered stands. Perfectly complemented by an indulgent dessert buffet and menu of fine teas or bubbles.

In celebration of Mother's Day, the hotel will be hosting the afternoon teas in its One Eleven Spring Street Dining Room ($129 per person), heritage-listed Grand Ballroom ($99 per person) and stunning Bourke Room ($99 per person), with a number of sittings available for reservation.

Guests choosing to dine in the One Eleven Spring Street Dining Room will be served unlimited French sparkling wine throughout the seating and will have a slightly longer reservation to fully embrace the offering.

As a special gift from the hotel, each Mother will receive a sweet 'treat' of soft centred raspberry and pistachio mousse cake, white chocolate and hazelnut crumble.

Those unable to attend the Afternoon Tea will be able to purchase a gift voucher for their loved ones, valid for four months.

Mother’s Day High Tea, Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney

The Mother’s Day High Tea will be served from midday on Sunday 8 th May in the Lady Fairfax room and offers a range of sweet and savoury treats. Mums Roam Free at Featherdale Wildlife Park this Mother’s Day

Featherdale Wildlife Park, home to over 2,200 Australian native animals, is offering free entry into the park for all Mums this Mother’s Day.

In addition, the first 200 Mums through the gates on Sunday 8th May will receive a special Mother’s Day gift pack. What better way for Mums to celebrate this special day than with their own loved ones but also in the company of some fellow furry mothers who also care unconditionally for their offspring.

Chad Staples, General Curator at Featherdale, said: “We are delighted to offer free entry for Mums this Mother’s Day and look forward to welcoming families into the park. We are committed to our conservation and breeding programs and enjoy celebrating new additions to our Featherdale family. It’s a wonderful day out to witness the animals interacting with their offspring.”

In advance of Mother’s Day, Featherdale Wildlife Park has recently celebrated the arrival of some native birds such as a white-cheeked honeyeater, little pied cormorant and a wandering whistling duck. The furry friends born in the park over the last year, who always capture the attention of visitors include a red necked pademelon, three koalas, a yellow footed rock wallaby joey, a quokka and two baby wombats.

Not a mum but still a delight to visit and guaranteed to capture the hearts of all the families visiting the park is Archer the Koala. Archer was unable to be nurtured by his biological mother but was devotedly hand-raised by the loving keepers at Featherdale. He provides great entertainment at the park and has become a celebrity both in Australia and internationally.

Featherdale also has wonderful facilities including a café and shady picnic areas with BBQ facilities so families can really make a full day out of their visit and enjoy celebrating all the Mums out there, humans and creatures.
