Voyages shows commitment to the environment

Voyages Hotels & Resorts is a recognised leader in sustainable environmental tourism practice and works in harmony with its local environments.
Voyages is committed to nurturing and sharing Australia's sensitive and complex eco and cultural destinations and also to protecting them for generations to come.
Because we feel privileged to operate in remote locations such as the Red Centre, Tasmania's Central Highlands, the Kimberley region in Western Australia, Queensland's Outback and the Great Barrier Reef, it is critically important to us that we address local needs and concerns. At Voyages, the social and environmental policies we have created are not an option, they are a vital way of life for us as a company and for our partners.
Every property has an Environmental Management Plan in place to ensure that operation of the resorts causes minimal disturbance to the environment.
In addition, Voyages has seven properties that have been awarded Eco Certification, six of which have obtained the Advanced Eco Certification.
The Eco Certification Program, developed by Ecotourism Australia, is a world first. It has been developed by industry for industry, addressing the need to identify genuine ecotourism and nature tourism operators in Australia.
Ecotourism and nature tourism certification provide industry, local communities and travellers with an assurance that a certified product is backed by a commitment to best practice ecological sustainability, natural area management and the provision of quality ecotourism experiences.

Voyages Silky Oaks Lodge
Silky Oaks Lodge is located on the edge of World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest, the most well-known in the Cairns region. Around 1200sq km in size, the Daintree National Park is one of Australia's largest chunks of rainforest and contains around 30 per cent of frog, marsupial and reptile species in Australia, about 65 per cent of Australia's bat and butterfly species and 20 per cent bird species.
Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge
Cradle Mountain Lodge is located on the edges of the World Heritage Listed Tasmanian Wilderness area. Part of the reason the Tasmanian Wilderness area has been conserved is because of the long occupation of the land by aboriginal people. It is thought their occupation extends as far back as 30,000 years. There are numerous sites throughout the Wilderness area that contain aboriginal relics, including rock paintings.
Voyages Ayers Rock Resort and Voyages Longitude 131°
Ayers Rock Resort and Longitude 131° are adjacent to the World Heritage Listed Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park. Despite the semi-arid nature of the region, there is considerable biodiversity in the area. Over 560 flora species are present, from perennial grasses to centuries-old Desert Oaks. There are two vulnerable species of animals within the Ayers Rock Resort boundary - the Mulgara and the Great Desert Skink.
