Hansar Bangkok Opens Its Doors

Hansar Hotels & Resorts has opened the stunning 94-suite Hansar Bangkok, its second property in Thailand. Located on the upmarket Rajdamri Road, the luxury hotel is surrounded by high-end properties, elegant shopping malls and the greenery of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. Within close proximity is the BTS Skytrain, from which the rest of the Thai capital and its attractions are easily accessible, while Suvarnabhumi International Airport is a 30-minute drive.

Designed by Singapore-based architects WOHA, the building displays architectural elegance and timeless style, with lush greenery cascading from the eighth floor and spacious interiors of plush carpets, warm wood and silk-panelled walls. Within each suite are oversized beds with unique individually hand-beaded headboards from Chiang Mai artisan Kachama, while sliding doors open onto an oversized bathroom with separate rain shower and terrazzo bathtub for indulgent soaks. An integrated kitchenette with stovetop, refridgerator and built-in washing machine provide the conveniences of home, with entertainment delivered by the 50-inch flatscreen television, DVD player, iPod docking station, complimentary high-speed internet access and an intimate relaxation and living area.

Bangkok’s array of dining establishments is joined by 4 unique concepts. Eve woos global epicures and local foodies with sophisticated design and an inventive French Provencal menu, while Cafe Boca serves up gourmet sandwiches, panini, salads, quiches and more for casual lunches, quick snacks and bites-to-go. Shine and Zest, the hotel’s poolside restaurant and bar is perfect for starting the day over freshly baked pastries, tropical fruits and aromatic coffees, with the lobby bar Vue offering drinks and a place to see-and-be-seen as it comes alive each evening after the sun sets.

From executive board meetings to weddings and family reunions, Hansar Bangkok has intimate spaces created to make each event memorable for guests. Accessed by a grand staircase, The Landing is the hotel’s reinvention of the club floor, encompassing business and lounge facilities, while The Alcove and The Cube are stylish event facilities with full audio-visual and communications capabilities. For outdoor events with a view of the Bangkok skyline, the Sky Terrace boasts a private deck and indoor reception area.

After a day exploring the city or business meetings, guests can unwind at the hotel’s LUXSA Spa, where the skilled therapists perform treatments inspired by ancient Thai remedies and international restorative techniques. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a session of yoga in the fitness center or relax on comfortable loungers before escaping the tropical heat in the infinity-edge swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Hansar Bangkok joins its sister property Hansar Samui and is also the latest member to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. For more information, visit www.hansarhotels.com and www.slh.com.
