Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane – Program unveiled

Love is in the air and romance is on the runway, as the program for the 2013Mercedes-Benz FashionFestival Brisbane is unveiled today.

For the first time in its eight year history, the Fashion Festival will present a Bridal Group Showalongside an exciting line-up of the best local, national and international designers, all presenting their new season collections.

Hero-MBFF13Returning to the newly refurbishedCity Hall after a three-year absence the Fashion Festival will, in another first, stage all seven runway shows and the closing night’s decadently-themedHighlights Parade in the round.

Majorfashion names such as Easton Pearson, Lee Mathews, Ginger & Smartand Akirawill joinQueenslandfavouritesincludingDarb Couture, Lisa Brown, Gail Sorronda, Tengdahl, Maiocchi and Sacha Draketopresent their Spring/Summer collections on a custom-built circular runway, to complement the striking restyling of City Hall’s main auditorium.

Myerwill also take to the Fashion Festival runway for the second consecutive year,opening the Festival with a showcase of the latest collections from their stable of renowned Australian designers including Jayson Brunsdon, sass & bide, Wayne Cooper, Toni Maticevski, Arthur Galan AGand more.

Couture kingPaul Hunt will celebrate his label’s 10th anniversary by closing the Fashion Festival with a flourish on Thursday, 29 August, in a move that highlights the refreshed timeline of the new program. Paul is one of the stalwarts of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, gracing the runway every year since the inaugural event in 2006, and is a constant crowd favourite.

These fashion heavyweights will share the in-the-round runway with a fresh line-up of emerging designers, and a new design competition will unearth the most promising up-and-coming fashion talent from Queensland’s top six fashion colleges.

This year the Fashion Festival is thrilled to welcome back its naming-rights sponsor, Mercedes-Benz, whose continued support ensures the success of Queensland’s premier fashion event.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is also delighted with the return of valued partners Napoleon Perdis and Schwarzkopf Professional, alongside other long-term partners,Brisbane Marketing,QueensPlaza, Myer and Brisbane Arcadeas well as media partners, Network 10Radio 97.3fm and News Queensland.

$1 from every ticket soldwill also be donated to The Courier-Mail Children’s fund, dedicated to providing funds to help sick and disadvantaged children reach their full potential.
