The Yarra Valley Winemakers Dinner at Stokehouse on Tuesday, 25 June promises to be a food and wine fanatic’s dream, offering guests an indulgent, five-course dinner with matched wines for just $130 per person.

Winemaker Gary Mills, or “Millsy” as his friends know him, creates some of the Valley’s most interesting wines, with a focus on single-vineyard Syrahs and aromatic whites from some of Victoria’s most unique sites. He crafts each varietal into beautiful expressions of the vineyards, giving wine enthusiasts a true taste of the Yarra Valley.

Hoddles Creek Estate is a family owned and run winery, led by Franco D’Anna. Planted on steeply sloped blocks of land in the Upper Yarra Valley, the vineyards must be pruned and harvested by hand. Each Hoddles Creek wine, from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc to Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc is single-vineyard, producing wines that are pure, fine and always perfectly balanced.

Mayer winery is a small producer that’s all about personality, creating wines with a point of difference and a true reflection of their site. Timo Mayer’s philosophy is ‘bring back the funk!’ and his winemaking process interferes as little as possible with the natural flavour and state of each variety. From his ‘Bloody Hill’ Chardonnay to ‘Big Betty’ Shiraz, wine dinner guests are in for a truly exceptional experience.

Gary Mills, Franco D’Anna and Timo Mayer will bring their expertise and unique, characteristic wines to Stokehouse, giving guests the opportunity to sample some of the Yarra Valley’s finest. The wines will be paired with a delicious, five-course dinner designed by Head Chef Richard Ousby, to complement and enhance each wine variety.
