Two of New Zealand's most acclaimed wine producers, Felton Road and Dry River, present the Ultimate Pinot Weekend at one of Relais & Châteaux' most spectacular venues - The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs in Northland - on  Saturday 17 August.

This may be one of the only opportunities to taste, side by side, back vintages of two of New Zealand's most esteemed pinot noirs.

Felton Road's renowned winemaker Blair Walter and Dry River's Antony Mackenzie will produce an extraordinary menu of Burgundian favourites to match an exquisite meal prepared by Group Executive Chef Dale Gartland.

Blair Walter will present vintages from the library at Felton Road including the Calvert and Cornish Point single vineyard wines and the highly sought-after Block 3 and Block 5 Pinots. Antony Mackenzie will unveil a cult Pinot Noir and back vintages.

Chef Dale Gartland will enlighten guests on how he matches locally sourced dishes with earthy and
fragrant pinots.

As with all the lodge's Winter Food & Wine Series events, there is ample time to enjoy all that the lodge has to offer. From golf to spa to long walks on the scenic property, a weekend at Kauri Cliffs promises something for everyone, with as much or little activity as guests choose.

The Winter Special Event Series tariff of NZ $800 +15% GST per person per night (double/twin occupancy)  includes accommodation in a suite with pre-dinner drinks and canapés, dinner with matching wines, full breakfast, complementary mini-bar (excludes
liquor and wine) and use of lodge facilities including a choice of either a day of unlimited green fees OR a 50 minute massage per person.

This represents great value, given the calibre of the wines at the dinner and the many inclusions.

Guests who book the event can extend to a whole-weekend booking, with additional nights at the special rate of NZ$600 + 15% GST per person per night (includes pre-dinner drinks, dinner, and breakfast only).
For single occupancy add NZ$400 + 15% GST per person to the event tariff.
