In 2014, Extreme Bike Tours will offer nine expedition rides from 11 to 16 days long across the roof of the world to the Mt Everest Base Camp, across the Tibetan plateau, over some of the world’s loftiest mountain passes, past the marbled palaces of Rajasthan or through the tea plantations, tropical tiger reserves and beach resorts of southern India.

The guided tours include accommodation, all meals, support from bike-riding sherpas and use of India’s legendary Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet motorbikes.

* A 12-day 3-Star South India tour departing Cochin on January 12, 2014, was priced at US$3250 for riders but until July 31, 2013, is priced at A$3250 (a saving of around A$187*) and A$2560 for pillion passengers.

* An 11-day 5-Star South India tour departing Cochin on February 2, 2014 with stays in luxury hotels, was priced at US$4450 for riders but is now available at A$4450 (a saving of around A$256* ) and A$3250 for pillion passengers.

* Four 15-day ‘Mighty Himalayan’ tours departing Delhi on June 21, July 8 and 25 and August 11, 2014, and taking thrillseekers up the world’s highest roads up to an altitude of 5600m and to remote mountain villages with riders staying in hotels, guesthouses and in tents. The tours were priced at US$3848 for riders but are now A$3848 (a saving of around A$222*) and A$2875 for pillion passengers.

* Two 14-day Tibet tours departing Kathmandu in Nepal on September 8 and 22, 2014, and venturing through remote Tibetan villages to the 5200m-high Everest Base Camp. The expeditions were priced at US$5250 for riders but are now A$5250 (a saving of around A$303*) and A$4450 for pillion passengers.

* A 14-day 5-Star Rajasthan tour departing Delhi on November 15, 2014, and taking in the Taj Mahal, the palaces of Udaipur and the camel-trodded expanse of Thar Desert, with stays in luxury hotels along the way. The tour was US$3930 for riders but is now A$3930 (a saving of around A$227*) and A$3300 for pillion passengers.

The tours are open to licensed motorcyclists and pillion passengers travelling behind riders.
