Culture of cuisine: InterContinental Kuala Lumpur is honouring the culinary heritage of its location just off Jalan Ampang with an exclusive Ramadhan menu designed to be reminiscent of the area's famous Binjai Bazaar. Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur's much-lauded Serena Brasserie is celebrating the unique culinary heritage of its historic location just off Jalan Ampang with a special menu to commemorate the holy month of Ramadhan.

The menu has been created to evoke the multi-sensory experience of exploring the abundantly stocked market stalls of the hotel's local Jalan Binjai Bazaar, an Aladdin's cave of gastronomic wonders famous in the 1990s for its dishes enjoyed by the city's Islamic population after breaking their religious fast.

Showcasing authentic dishes unique to the month of Ramadhan, the opulent menu draws inspiration from the traditional Muslim cuisine of different Malaysian states each day of the week, from the fiery heat of chilli-laden Negeri Sembilan cooking to the exquisite freshness of Pahang Darul Makmur's river fish dishes, from culinary heaven in Penang to ancient food favourites from Malacca.

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur General Manager Phil Riley said Kuala Lumpur's long-established position as a cultural melting pot provides the perfect position to highlight the rich culinary heritage of the country as a whole. "Let us take you on a trip down memory lane where the diverse fare reminiscent of Jalan Binjai Bazaar will be on offer to the city's food lovers, Muslim, non-Muslim and hungry travellers alike," he said.

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur will also be delighting guests with food hampers in honour of Raya Gemilang and Raya Istimewa, bursting with appetising morsels like sable cookies, dried figs, pistachios, dates and pomegranate cordial.

Binjai Bazaar in the Brasserie: InterContinental Kuala Lumpur's renowned Serena Brasserie will be offering the nostalgic menu throughout Ramadhan to be enjoyed by religious observers and non-Muslims alike. "The cuisine of Kuala Lumpur is as delicious as it is diverse and it's a great privilege to have skilled chefs able to offer an authentic and enticing Ramadhan menu that honours the Islamic heritage of our proud city," added Mr Riley.

The menu is available throughout Ramadhan.
