149 years of Afternoon Teas Celebrate at The Langham, Melbourne for just 20 cents this June

In 1865, guests at Afternoon Tea paid the equivalent of 20 cents today. On 11 June 20 fashion-savvy guests in Melbourne will pay that same tiny amount to each to enjoy the daily, ritual that is upheld at every Langham around the globe.

This unique celebratory Afternoon Tea will include Langham favourites such as ribbon sandwiches, fresh scones served with jam and cream, chocolate strawberries, candied fruit cake, miniature lemon curd tarts, strawberry éclairs, Champagne truffles and a cookie inspired by Coco Chanel.

Melbourne guests will enjoy the unique local luxury of a specially created dessert made by Darren Purchese from South Yarra's acclaimed Burch &318783_num875321 Purchese.

Only 10 tables for two are available. Tea lovers keen to secure a seat at this one off, exclusive 20 cent feast need only:
  1. Visit facebook.com/LanghamHotelMelbourne from Monday 26 May at noon.
  2. Go to the competition post
  3. Upload a photo of what they'd wear to the Afternoon Tea or describe in 25 words or less their afternoon tea ensemble of choice.
  4. Come along to sip Champagne and expertly brewed tea and arguably admire everyone else's Afternoon Tea attire.
Of course, entrants are encouraged to take their fashion cue from The Langham, Melbourne's signature service stylists and The Langham, Melbourne's newest addition, Coco Bear. (Think pink colour and Chanel collar!)

Competition closes at 5pm on 2nd of June 2014.
