Kylie and Rydges celebrate 40

Life begins at forty, the ultimate party age. Rydges Hotels and Resorts will be celebrating their fortieth hotel, the Brighton Beach in Melbourne, this year along with some high profile celebrities. Just look at the company they are keeping with 40th birthdays this year: Kylie Minogue, CĂ©line Dion, Will Smith and Lucy Liu.

Rydges Brighton Beach is a boutique hotel that will reflect the rejuvenated Rydges Brand featuring the Rydges Dream Beds ™,and the Rydges Rise Breakfast™ concept. You'll find Rydges Brighton Beach on the corner of Esplanade and Grosvenor Streets, Brighton, in Melbourne. Rydges Brighton Beach will have 60 rooms, a bar, restaurant and facilities for intimate meetings and functions for up to 50 people.

It's perfectly positioned for the conference market with the Royal Brighton Yacht Club which caters for up to 110 people, just across the road. Brighton Middle Baths are also opposite the hotel and feature space for weddings and private functions. Definitely a place for 40 year celebrations.

This hotel will offer an experience as much as a destination. It's a 4.5 star hotel with style, but not attitude. The experience will include treatments provided by Endota Day Spa, boasting six lavish Treatment Rooms. The hotel is owned by Melbourne based PACE Developments who Rydges are welcoming into their family with this new hotel.

Rydges Brighton Beach is scheduled to open in late October 2008. Whilst many details of the project are yet to be announced – more information is due to be released.

Norman Arundel, Managing Director Rydges Hotels and Resorts said, "Rydges Brighton Beach highlights the success Rydges Hotels and Resorts have had in Australia. Brighton beach is an iconic destination for an iconic birthday – 40. We also welcome working with PACE developments to showcase this stylish building in one of Melbourne's most popular beach suburbs renowned for those colourfully-painted bathing boxes and stunning views across Port Phillip Bay to the office towers of the Melbourne CBD."

He said, "We are also pleased to announce Melanie Yates, one of our young guns in Rydges, as the new General Manager."

Melanie has been with Rydges since 2001, starting at Rydges Parramatta where she held the position of Food & Beverage Manager and moved to Rydges Melbourne as Executive Assistant Manger one year ago.
