Metro Hotel Sydney Central, Metro Hospitality Group’s flagship property on the corner of Pitt and Campbell Streets in the heart of Sydney, will complete a two year refurbishment this month that has seen a complete upgrade of its rooms, pool, restaurant terrace and guest lifts.
The completion of the refurbishment means the hotel now offers
220 Superior and Deluxe rooms, with its former Standard rooms phased out. The higher standard
of guest accommodation is expected to further strengthen the hotel’s appeal
with the overseas tourism market. The hotel currently receives 30 percent of
its business from international guests through overseas wholesalers and inbound
operators.
The
first stage of the refurbishment, completed in 2012, saw accommodation of four
of the hotel’s 10 floors and the rooftop pool area receive an extensive
makeover, followed by the revitalisation of the guest lifts and restaurant
terrace. The final stage, finished this month, has seen the remaining six
floors of accommodation upgraded. The hotel is now 100 percent smoke free.
