Koala Adventure Island: Whitsunday Winter Warmer

There has never been a better time to escape the chill of winter and take off to a tropical island paradise.

Imagine lying on a white sandy beach, the coconut palms gently swaying in the breeze, crystal clear water lapping at the sand as the sun gently caresses you.

The Whitsundays' newest island resort offers all this and more - a tropical island getaway where you can really shake off those winter blues as you bask in temperatures of 24̊C.

Koala Adventure Island, which opened in March, offers bungalows set along palm-fringed white sandy beaches at very reasonable rates for a four day/three night stay.

Aimed at the 18+ market, there are also plenty of activities on offer including jet skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, tennis and golf plus live entertainment every night.

For chilling, there are plenty of daybeds and pergolas to lounge under beside the 25m pool or by the sea perhaps contemplating a massage or a facial.

Koala Adventure Island is located on beautiful South Molle Island and is surrounded by 400 hectares of National Park, secluded bays and amazing fringing coral reefs.

Managing director Craig Ross said Koala Adventure Island offered an 'idyllic tropical island paradise' that was a perfect escape from the chill of winter down south.

"The Whitsundays are blessed with beautifully warm winters, with clear sunny days and average maximum temperatures of about 24°C," said Mr Ross.

"With water temperatures of about 25°C all year round, winter is a perfect opportunity to explore the amazing Whitsunday Islands, the Great Barrier Reef and the abundant marine life. We even see whales at this time of year, calving in the warm Whitsunday waters."

There are four styles of accommodation on Koala Adventure Island. For the four day/three night Opening Special rates are from $157 per person for three nights (4-6 share accommodation) to $247 per person for three nights twin share, right on the beachfront. The Opening Special includes boat transfers from Airlie Beach (flights arrive into Whitsunday Coast Airport daily). Call 1800 466 444 or visit www.koalaadventureisland.com
