THE continued increase in popularity of Wendy Wu Tours' Sri Lankan product has prompted the tour operator to introduce a new fully inclusive itinerary that encompasses highlights of the country's relatively undiscovered north.
The 14-day “Cultural Northern Discovery” explores a variety of beautiful beaches, unique wildlife, stunning waterfalls, World Heritage sites, National Parks and jungles as well as the unique city of Jaffna.
Highlights of the journey include a visit to the Nallura Kandaswamy Kovil Temple for an evening Puja ceremony in Jaffna, the UNESCO World Heritage listed Rock Fortress or ‘Lion Rock’ in Sigiriya, the ancient reservoir of Kantale Tank - home to many elephants herds and a variety of bird life, a chance for whale watching in Trincomalee and a visit to an aboriginal tribe at Mahiyangana in Kandy.
There are three departures in 2014, May 03, June 21 and July 26 (coincides with the Esala Perahera Pageant in Kandy) from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.
Priced from $4,690 per person, twin share, the package includes return international economy airfares with Singapore Airlines, accommodation, all meals, local transportation in Sri Lanka, daily tours and entrance fees, an English-speaking National Tour Escort and/or local guides, visa fees for Australian passport holders, taxes and charges. It also includes airline fuel surcharge and tipping, which are subject to change.
