Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge re-opens on April 01

Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge, one of Australia's most authentic and luxurious cattle station properties, is preparing to re-open for guests next month, after the annual five-month tropical wet season.

Located in a spectacular setting 300km west of Cairns in outback Queensland, Wrotham Park Lodge encompasses the spirit of the Australian outback combined with a unique, luxury resort experience.

At Wrotham Park Lodge, 10 luxury stockmen's 'Quarters' perch along the rim of the Mitchell River allowing guests to relax in comfort following a day's horse-riding, mustering, quad-biking or fishing - to name just a few of the activities. At the main Lodge, guests can cool off in the pool, enjoy reading about local history in the comforts of the library and sip on a Pinot Noir whilst dining on world-renowned '1824' premium grade beef.

To celebrate the re-opening, Voyages is offering a NEW Stay/Pay deal for a limited time to June 30, allowing guests one FREE night via a Stay/Pay deal. Prices start from $3,000* per room, based on two people sharing a room, allowing them to stay for three nights, but pay for only two. Included in the package is all meals, a selected range of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and many Lodge activities including cattle mustering (seasonal), a half day cattle station tour and fishing.

Encompassing 600,000 hectares of land with around 70,000 head of Brahman cattle, mustering will take place on Wrotham Park Station from mid-May to mid-September this year. Departing in the morning, guests will be taken to the centre of the mustering action on the station. Joining the stockmen and women on horseback guests will share the excitement of rounding up the herds, sometimes in unison with a helicopter.

Anna Guillan, Executive General Manager Sales & Marketing Voyages Hotels & Resorts, said: "Wrotham Park Lodge is the epitome of Australian outback luxury offering guests an authentic outback experience in style in a breathtaking remote station location."

As guests descend to the bush airstrip at Wrotham, Wrotham Park Lodge Manager Cameron Harms will be driving out to greet them in his 4WD, clouds of dust spiraling in his wake. And as guests step off the plane to be greeted by Cameron – decked out in his well-worn Akubra – they'll know they've arrived somewhere real. Cameron has a genuine love of the Queensland outback, and makes every guest feel as they are part of the Wrotham family, which includes Diesel the dog, who'll be decked in his red and white-spotted neckerchief, and Wrotham's 12 resident horses.

"I love seeing the expressions of people who ride a horse, get involved in their first cattle muster, or catch a fish for the first time. Just watching their expressions as they see the breathtaking sunsets is magical," Harms added. "Wrotham gets under your skin; it's a very special place."
