The ‘Ultimate’ Collection - Pearler of a package unveiled at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, Cairns

Accor’s Pullman Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns has collaborated with renown Australian artist and pearl jewellery designer David Conolan to launch an exclusive luxury accommodation package for those with a taste for Far North Queensland and the finer things in life.

Targeting the luxury market, the opulent Pullman Pearl Package promises an exclusive experience to include:

o One night in a Pullman Suite at the five-star Pullman Reef Hotel Casino
o Use of a private car with a chauffeur on call 24 hours a day
o A private ‘Room Service’ Champagne breakfast
o A two course dinner in Tamarind (bev not included)
o A bottle of Mumm Champagne on arrival at the hotel
o A stunning 60 minute Helicopter Flight over the Reef and Rainforest in tropical North Queensland
o Pearl jewellery collection to take home, designed by Australian artist David Edward Conolan valued at AU$5,500 (one set only per room)

The package is priced from AU$4,250 and is available for stays from 25 February until 31 August 2009.

To celebrate the launch of the Ultimate Pullman Package, David Edward Conolan will reveal his latest artwork – a pearl encrusted AU$200,000 painting – in the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino lobby on the 25th of February, on display for a limited time.

The painting complements Mr Conolan’s hand crafted ‘Desert Pearl Strand Jewellery Collection’ created exclusively for the luxury Pullman package.

Each package will include a ‘Desert Pearl’ jewellery set comprising a necklace, bracelet and set of earrings made from akoya pearls and valued at $5,500. With no two pearls alike, each strand set is as individual as the guest who will wear them.

Mr Conolan says by using only sterling silver, semi-precious gemstones and AAA grade, 9mm strand akoya pearls (fine salt water Japanese pearls), guests are assured quality and consistent symmetry and luster in each and every piece.

“This collection of pearl strands has been designed with the luxury traveller in mind,” says Mr Conolan. “By using this size and grade of pearl we have been able to give the classic pearl strand and beautiful and elegant modern twist, incorporating different textures such as mother of pearl, agate, corals, turquoise, amber, black and green jade, abalone shell and hand blown glass.

The result is a collection that encompasses the colors of the Australian Outback – from the amazing turquoise of the Australian tropical seas, deep russet tones of Broome, through to the sparkling blues of Cairns and Port Douglas in Queensland.

Acting General Manager Adam Rowbottom says the package is targeted squarely at domestic travellers looking for a luxury package locally, in addition to international visitors from Japan, the US, Europe and the emerging Chinese market.
