Meet With Dr Zahi Hawass The World's Most Famous Egyptologist
Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre is organising a 13 day fully inclusive tour of Egyot departing Australia on 19 September which will include a meeting with Dr Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt.
Dr Hawass is Egypt's most famous Egyptologist. He is the Director of Excavations at Giza (site of the Great Pyramid), Saqqara and several other key Pharonic sites. He has appeared as an expert commentator
in almost every key documentary on Ancinet Egyopt made over the past 15 years. His passion for and knowledge of the sites of Ancinet Egypt is compelling and with his trademark akubra hat he is easily mistaken for an Egyptian Indian Jones or a Nile Croccdile Dundee.
On Septenber 19, 2009 Greece and Mediterranean Travel entre is organising a one off tours , Treasures of Ancient Egypt which will have space for 25 participants. The group will meet with and listen to a lecture from Dr hawass whoi will discuss some of his many discoveries. The group will go behind the scenes of some of Egypt's most famous archaeological sites including the workers village of the Great Pyramid, the Bent Pyramid and the Dahshur Red Pyramid which are not part of standard Egyotian itineraries.
The tour includes a highlight dinner at the El salamlek Place in Alexandria, much loved by Egyots's last King, Farouk. The tour includes exploring Cairo, Alecandria and luxury Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. The cost of AUD$8,875 pp twin shatre include return air fares between Austraia and Egyot, land content including most meals the sevices of a qualified Egyoptologist guide and domestic air fares in Egypt.
