MasterChef's Jimmy Seervai joins World Expeditions to lead culinary tour to India

MasterChef finalist Jimmy Seervai has joined with leading adventure travel company World Expeditions to create an amazing 18 day culinary tour of India which he will escort in October 2011.  Staying at beautiful heritage hotels, the journey will encompass master classes with Jimmy together with well-known Indian chefs while also dining in specialty restaurants across this fascinating county from south to north.

This journey unravels the mysteries of traditional Indian cuisine, exploring the use of spices, herbs and fresh produce that are purchased at local markets and bazaars to later prepare into a variety of dishes that are renown to the region.

A highlight of the tour will be the opportunity to meet and cook with various well-known Indian chefs. These chefs will welcome Jimmy and the group into their kitchens and give their very own 'master chef' demonstration, with the group enjoying the meal afterwards.

"I have specially selected many of these restaurants from my knowledge of India and of these great restaurants and chefs, and I am sure we have created an itinerary filled with exceptional experiences," says Jimmy.

"Of all the doors MasterChef has opened up for me, I am most excited about this one by far. I get the opportunity to share a journey through my home country that has a rich 5000 year history, unmatched in its diversity for culture, people, colour and food!," said Jimmy.

The diversity of cuisine on this tour is equalled by the contrasting landscapes and cultures as it encompasses the relaxed pace of Kerala in the south,  the bustling streetscapes of the capital New Delhi and much in between.  The tour includes the gentle sway of on an overnight train journey, superb wildlife sightings at Periyar National Park and a cool drink overlooking the sands of the Rajasthan Desert, while the unique home stay and exploration of the vast history, palaces and forts of Hyderabad, Mumbai, Udaipur and Jaipur will provide another captivating tangent to the trip.
