Back a Winner at InterContinental Sydney this Melbourne Cup


Punters, fashionistas and race day enthusiasts are invited to enjoy one of three very stylish Melbourne Cup Day events at InterContinental Sydney on November 2, 2010.

Held across three stunning venues within the hotel, the events will feature delicious cuisine and bubbles, live coverage of the Melbourne Cup race, sweepstakes and prizes for the best dressed.

Melbourne Cup at Club InterContinental
For the ultimate Melbourne Cup experience, enjoy the exclusive surrounds of what is arguably Sydney's most spectacular rooftop lounge, Club InterContinental. Generally available to Club guests only, the newly-refurbished Club InterContinental on Level 31 of the hotel offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the harbour. While soaking in the view and taking a punt on their favourite fillies, Melbourne Cup guests will enjoy deluxe canapés, a live cooking station and free-flowing 2005 Cloudy Bay Pelorus Vintage Brut bubbly, from 12.30pm to 4:00pm. $135 per person.

Melbourne Cup at Café Opera
The hotel's grand dining room, Café Opera will be abuzz on Cup Day, with a seafood dining experience taking pole position. Guests can enjoy one of Sydney's finest seafood buffets, choosing from a selection of lobster tails, spanner crabs, scallops and barramundi fillets, complemented by a variety of seasonal salads, sushi and sumptuous desserts. Watch the afternoon's races while sipping on endless bubbles, from 12.30pm to 4:00pm. $110 per person.

Melbourne Cup Day High Tea in The Cortile
Located at the heart of the InterContinental Sydney, The Cortile offers an elegant, heritage setting for a delicious Melbourne Cup Day High Tea. Delivered on tiered stands, the high tea features scones with fresh cream and homemade jam, pastries, traditional Viennese slices, pistachio and cream macaroons and savoury items such as smoked salmon tea sandwiches, miniature burgundy and beef pies, and capsicum and feta quiches. High tea will be served with a glass of 2005 Cloudy Bay Pelorus Vintage Brut. $55 per person.
