A new grand voyage of the Mediterranean -- 24 nights from Lisbon to Istanbul – will open Star Clippers’ European sailing season in April next year.
The cruise is the longest on the operator’s European summer calendar calling at 20 ports en route, with only three interspersed separate sea days: Tangier, Motril, Palma, Mahon, Tunis, Pantelleria, Valletta, Syracuse, Katakolon, Monemvasia Mykonos (twice) Hydra, Piraeus, Kos, Patmos,
Camlimani, Kusadasi, Dikili and Canakkale.
The ship undertaking the voyage from Lisbon on April 16 is Star Clipper (115m and 170 guests) one of three in the fleet of clipper sailing ships.
Prices for the full 24-night night sailing start at $9065, but a discount of up to 35% applies for bookings before January 31, 2014.
Segments can be bought separately: Lisbon/Athens (17 nights from $6475) Lisbon/Malta (10 nights $3890) Malta/Athens and Athens/Istanbul (both seven nights from $2725). A 14-night cruise from Malta to Athens costs from $5310).
All grand voyage segment cruises are subject to a 35% early booking discount (by January 31, 2014) except Malta/Italy which is 25% off.
After arriving in Istanbul on June 21 2014, Star Clipper will operate 25 cruises,
