Be inspired by the Writers in Residence at MGallery Hotels in Australia and New Zealand

The MGallery Collection of 10 hotels in Australia and New Zealand is turning a new page as it delves into the literary world with the 'Writers in Residence' program.

Each hotel in the MGallery Collection evokes its own memorable story that can be experienced through the hotel's special features and characteristics. Prolific Australian authors will be 'in residence' at different hotels, to bring these stories to life by creating an exclusive short story inspired by their MGallery experience.

Literature and gastronomy enthusiasts are invited to share in this experience, as the Writer in Residence will host an exclusive dinner at the hotel, giving a sneak preview of the MGallery residence-inspired story.

Writers in Residence Dinner

Harbour Rocks Hotel in Sydney's historic Rocks precinct is the first MGallery hotel to open this chapter with award-winning local writer B. Michael Radburn in residence this October. The program will be launched with a carefully curated evening to celebrate the creative synergy of literature and food on Thursday, 9 October in the hotel's Scarlett Restaurant. Limited spaces are available at $150 per person for an evening of indulgence in a four-course culinary journey of dishes inspired from the hotel's fascinating history.

Hotel Lindrum in Melbourne will write the second chapter with writer Jane Gilmour (of Colette's France), in residence also in October. The Writers in Residence dinner with Jane will be held on Thursday, 30 October. Limited spaces are available at $160 per person at felt restaurant for a decadent four-course dinner with matched wines.

Chapter 1 package

For those wanting to be as inspired as the Writers in Residence, a special 'Chapter 1 package' is now available, where inner creativity can be stimulated when staying at an MGallery hotel. The 'Chapter 1 package' will curate a new creative beginning with a luxurious Appelles Spa pack and a Moleskine Passion Journal (valued at $80) for accommodation bookings of two nights or more. Rates are priced from $189 per room per night and valid for stays from 1 October 2014 to 30 June 2015. Available at all MGallery Collection hotels in Australia and New Zealand and conditions apply.

The MGallery Collection of hotels artfully offers upscale accommodation with distinct personalities catering to guests looking for a unique stay in places exuding individuality. All offerings and services by an MGallery hotel resonate with its individual story, affording guests an experience of discovery with each stay.

Each MGallery hotel possesses its own individual character inspired by one of the Collection's three atmospheres of Heritage, Serenity and Signature. 'Heritage' hotels are steeped in history, while 'Serenity' hotels are true havens for relaxation and 'Signature' hotels reflect the aesthetic pleasures of the hotels.

Additional chapters will be written over the next few months as other Writers take up residence in the other MGallery Collection of hotels in Australia and New Zealand. An edition de luxe of all the short stories will be published and launched as the epilogue to the Writers in Residence program.

With uniqueness as the only constant in MGallery hotels, guests are ensured a fully memorable stay emblematic of the MGallery Collection.
