Win a Trip to Paris with the Great Netball Shootout!

Netballers and sporting enthusiasts of all ages are invited to test their skills in the "Great Netball Shootout" at the National Sports Museum (NSM) and go into the draw to win one of three amazing journeys - including a trip for two to Paris!

Launched today by the Minister for Public Transport, Martin Pakula MLC, the competition will start on October 2 and run until April 29, 2011.

The "Great Netball Shootout" offers the chance for three lucky winners to travel to Paris, Hong Kong or Central Australia to experience the trip of a lifetime.

Sponsored by UGL Rail & Infrastructure, each prize includes a unique rail component - a trip on the High Speed Train in Paris, a visit to the state-of-the-art rail train simulators in Hong Kong, and a trip for two on the Ghan across central Australia.

The competition involves shooting as many goals as possible in one minute for the chance to 'play off' in the Grand Final, held at the MCG in May 2011.

"Netball is one of the most popular sports in Australia and this is a great opportunity for players to challenge themselves and be rewarded with some amazing prizes," said Sharelle McMahon, captain of the Australian Netball Diamonds, co-captain of the Melbourne Vixens and official ambassador of the Shootout.

UGL Rail & Infrastructure will also offer free entry to the National Sports Museum for all Shootout entrants 18 years and younger - what better reason to come down and test your shooting skills?

"The National Sports Museum is thrilled to be hosting this exciting initiative,' said NSM General Manager, Margaret Birtley.

"We encourage everyone to come along and test their shooting skills against our countdown clock, and stay on to enjoy all that we have on offer at the NSM."

All contestants will receive a copy of "A Network of Opportunities: Your new rail career" published by the Australasian Railway Association, which will highlight the exciting and rewarding careers on offer in the rail industry.

Prizes are provided courtesy of Alstom Ltd, Metro Trains Melbourne, and Skilled Group Ltd.

There are also weekly prize draws of Metcards (valued at $85) to be won, courtesy of the Victorian Department of Transport.

The competition will take place in the Netball Interactive, located in the Game On gallery on the lower level of the National Sports Museum at the MCG.
