Wings over Illawarra, now in its 7th year is one of the largest air shows held in Australia.

The theme of Wings over Illawarra 2013 is 'Celebrating Naval Aviation' in honour of the centenary anniversary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy Fleet into Sydney. The Navy will be showcasing some of its finest assets at Wings over Illawarra with aerial and static displays that include the Multi Role Helicopter (MRH-90), Navy Squirrel helicopters, Fleet Air Arm Museum static displays and the Royal Australian Navy rock band.

For the first time ever Wings over Illawarra will feature a civilian aerobatics display with not one, but two exciting performers set to take to the skies.

Australia's premier aviation performer, Matt Hall will open and close the show with a spectacular aerobatics display. Matt is sure to wow the crowds with his impressive flying display in his MXS-R. Plus local airport operator, Southern Biplane Adventures will be performing in their 1943 Boeing Stearman along with a formation flyby of their Aerobatic Beechcraft Bonanza and Pitts Special.

The RAAF Roulettes and 'fast jet' will take to the skies joined by modern and vintage aircraft during Wings over Illawarra 2013.

The event will showcase a major display of historic flying aircraft, headlined by the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) along with defence aircraft, a classic car and bike display as well as amusement rides for the kids and steam trains at the Illawarra Light Railway Museum.

Profits raised from the event are distributed to a number of not-for-profit and charity organisations within the region including, HARS, Illawarra Light Railway Museum, Rotary Clubs of the Illawarra and Greenacres Disability Services.
