Unspoilt by mass tourism, Ghana is a land rich in cultural heritage, lush rainforest and golden sandy beaches.
Cox & Kings has released a small group journey through one of Africa’s less explored gems visiting tribal villages and meeting local chiefs, farmers and artisans on the 10-day Colours of Ghana.
From $3259* per person twin share, highlights include Kumasi - the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom, a full day tour to villages in Bonwire to meet the tribal chief, learn about the production of ceremonial cloth, palm wine and fertility dolls, and a visit to cocoa and palm oil farmers.
The adventure also features a walk in the rainforest canopy in Kakum National Park, a trip to Elmina Castle - the oldest European building in Africa, two nights at Axim Beach Resort surrounded by beautiful beaches and a full day visit to the stilt village of Nzulezo.
The tour begins in Accra and includes 9 nights’ accommodation, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, comfortable air-conditioned transport, arrival and departure transfers, entrance fees for itinerary sights and services of an English-speaking tour manager/local guides.
This ‘Discovery’ style small group journey is a slightly more adventurous tour and features basic, but clean and comfortable accommodation (best available tourist class).
It features an average of 15 people and a maximum of 25, offering travellers a more intimate touring experience. Colours of Ghana can also be undertaken as a Private Journey departing any day of the year.
