Cruise the Atlantic in 2014 and relax the body and soul with yoga and meditation classes under the billowing sails of a luxury clipper ship.
Royal Clipper, the 227-passenger five-masted flagship of the Star Clippers’ fleet, will make two Transatlantic crossings, east and west, offering the free classes with teacher Christel Vollmer, Madonna’s personal yoga guru.
The 21-nights eastbound sailing on April 12 from Bridgetown, Barbados to Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, will call at ports in Portugal and Spain.
The westbound crossing (28 nights) sails from Civitavecchia on October 25 with 12 ports of call.
Christel Vollmer will be on board for 16 nights on each cruise. She will hold daily sessions of Astanga yoga, also known as power yoga, on deck in the cool morning air with a second session including meditation just before sunset.
On Transatlantic sea days passengers can attend classes about sailing and navigation, knot tying, origami and dancing. Instead of emails, guests are encouraged to post messages in bottles.
