AirAsia, the World’s Best Low Cost Airline for 5 consecutive years (2009-2013) as ranked by Skytrax,
began its daily direct flights between “Chiang Mai-Krabi” on 15 December, 2013 with an average load factor of 85%.
The airline is confident that its enhanced network will offer greater convenience to both Thai and foreign travellers. Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, explained that this year, AirAsia was focused on creating connections between high potential provinces, which led to the launch of the “Chiang Mai-Krabi” daily direct flight serviced entirely by AirAsia’s fleet of Airbus A320, 180 seat planes. “We are confident that the launch will spur tourism and spending for both provinces during the holiday season”, said the CEO.
To mark both the launch of the new route and the holiday season, AirAsia has created a great promotion for “Chiang Mai-Krabi” flights with all-in fares starting at only 1,290 THB per way (all inclusive of airport tax and fees). Island lovers can enjoy even greater convenience with the Island Transfer service, which will take passengers from “Chiang Mai-Koh Lanta” at an all-in fare of 1,765 THB; inclusive of the flight, shuttle vans and ferry service to and from Krabi Airport. Both promotions will be available for booking during 16 December 2013 to 5 January 2014 for travel between 19 December 2013 and 31 March 2014 at www.airasia.com.
Chiang Mai is the Thai North’s most distinct travel destination with unique cultural offerings and renowned tourist sites. Abundant with hills, mountains, and cool weather year round, the province has always been a major hit amongst Thai and foreign travellers. Krabi meanwhile, is home to world-ranked beaches and oceans and is one of the many treasures of the Andaman Sea, serving as a convenient travel hub for island hoppers who will connect to Koh Phi Phi, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Rok, Koh Lanta and much more.
