Blanket Bay Launches the Ultimate Alpine Adventure Package

Combine the thrill of heli-skiing New Zealand's spectacular Southern Alps with the luxury of staying at Queenstown's renowned Blanket Bay.

For Australian skiers and snow boarders seeking the ultimate winter thrill this season, here is the ultimate alpine adventure package. Only three hours from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, within New Zealand's Southern Alps, are mountains of untouched powder snow just waiting to be carved.

This year Alpine Heliski has combined with Blanket Bay to offer Australians the ultimate weekend of spectacular off-piste skiing. Dependent on skier ability and expectations, plus snow and weather conditions, there is a remarkable selection of immense mountain areas to choose from, such as Temple Peaks, Thompson Mountains, Eyre Mountains, Walter Peak and South Richardson's – each offering different challenges, all providing exceptionally long virgin runs and incredible alpine scenery.

What's more, skiers do not have to be experts; as long as they possess intermediate skills on ski or snowboard and love a challenge, this full day's heli-skiing will become a lifetime memory of excitement and reward. Runs range from gentle Blue powder bowls to extreme Black Triple Diamond chutes.

The Ultimate Luxury Alpine Adventure Package includes a two-night stay in a luxury suite at Blanket Bay plus a private Heliski day. Blanket Bay lies on the edge of Lake Wakatipu surrounded by snow capped peaks. On arrival here guests will enjoy pre-dinner cocktails plus a la carte dining. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, their helicopter will land on the Lodge's front lawn with a private guide for this amazing day's skiing or boarding in untouched snow. Lunch will be served on a snow table high in the mountains, set just for skiers and their guide. Depending on conditions and runs, skiers can expect more than 10 incredible runs throughout the day. After a day of exhilaration, return to Blanket Bay for a massage before drinks and a gourmet dinner being served in a private dining room.

This package includes all two nights' accommodation, all meals, skis or snowboards plus all safety equipment. If heli-skiing is cancelled due to weather a full refund of the cost of the heli-skiing will be given. The price for a couple is NZ$4,220 per person inclusive of all taxes. For two couples, or four individuals, accommodated in two rooms, buying this package represents great value, with The Ultimate Luxury Alpine Adventure Package priced at NZ$3,030 per person inclusive of all taxes.
