Following the runaway success of its very own recession-busting stimulus package, Melbourne’s landmark Hotel Windsor has announced a “Room for Recovery” package to mark the start of the new financial year.
The hotel is offering a one-night stay from only $199 inclusive of a range of extras that deliver the perfect get-away from economic woes. The package includes a $50 food and beverage voucher for use at the hotel, a bag of chocolate coins and the commemorative Hotel Windsor piggy bank, fast becoming a collector’s item.
“The Room for Recovery package is our way of acknowledging we’re all hoping for better news in the new financial year,” The Hotel Windsor CEO and general manager David Perry said.
“We were the first hotel to offer what we called a stimulus package to ensure a relaxing break in a leading city hotel was within reach for consumers and the response was overwhelming, with literally hundreds of inquiries and bookings. Room for Recovery suggests that there is perhaps a little more optimism than there was six months ago but people are still cautious about indulging in luxuries.
“It makes a stay at Melbourne’s famous, historic Hotel Windsor highly affordable, so people can enjoy a winter break in the city and simply relax.”
The package is valid from July 1 to September 15 2009. For bookings or further information contact the Hotel Windsor on 03 9633 6002 or visit www.thehotelwindsor.com.au .
The 180-room Hotel Windsor was built in 1883, pre-dating some of the world’s leading grand hotels including the Savoy in London, which was built in 1889, the Waldorf Astoria in New York which dates back to 1893, and the Ritz Paris which opened in 1898.
