Hunt for antiques and collectables not chocolate eggs this Easter

Visit Canberra's famed Old Bus Depot Markets this Easter long weekend for a hunt of a different kind at the special Easter Portobello Road event.

Held on Easter Sunday, 24 April, this annual favourite focuses on antiques and collectables, and offers a fun day out for those ready and willing to trawl the aisles, scan the stalls and pick through the piles of  interesting curios.

"Portobello Road provides such fun for those who like to browse the aisles full of quirky pieces, with plenty of favourites on offer including period art glass, antique jewellery and unusual collectables", said Old Bus Depot Markets Co-owner, Diane Hinds.

"There's always something to catch the eye and visitors can speak with experienced antique dealers throughout the day."

Portobello Road presents a huge variety of items including linens and lace, retro decorative arts, vintage clothing, fine silver, small antique furniture and restored pieces.

"The fun is in the search, and your reward will be much greater than that from any Easter egg hunt!" Ms Hinds concluded.

Easter Portobello Road at the Old Bus Depot Markets will be open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 24 April and entry is free.  For more information visit www.obdm.com.au
