Grand Hyatt Melbourne Launches Tonight

Grand Hyatt Melbourne is officially celebrating the completion of its $45 million redevelopment this today from 6.30pm. Showcasing the stunning new public areas of the hotel and the brand new events area, the residence, the launch party will be attended by top national CEO’s and event organizers, as well as the cream of Melbourne's celebrity and social elite including Vince Colossimo, Alannah Hill and the Klims.

Guests will be entertained by a special performance from the cast of Billy Elliot, and an exclusive performance by a secret international performer. Right Honorable Lord Mayor Robert Doyle will also attend the launch party and give a short address. VIP guests of retail partners Bulgari, Paspaley Pearls and Emporio Armani will also be in attendance.

The redevelopment of Grand Hyatt Melbourne brings a new centre of luxury to Melbourne, with the world class Collins Kitchen and RU-CO, and the exclusive residence offering an events venue not seen before in Australia. The hosts of the evening will be dressed in stunning outfits by hot Melbourne designer, Thurley. The launch party will showcase the premium food and beverage offering of Grand Hyatt Melbourne, with sponsorship with key partners including Clamms, Top Cut, Fresh Generation, Moulin Rouge, Meribel Cheese, Red + White and Moet & Chandon.

The caliber of the launch party will echo that of the original launch on November 22nd, 1986, where the Hyatt on Collins hotel was officially opened in front of celebrities including Tony Barber, before being entertained by a young John Farnham.

The redevelopment will be officially opened at a media conference at 11am this Friday, 27th February by Premier John Brumby, marking the significance of the hotel’s transformation to Melbourne’s tourism and events industries. Honorable Tim Holding, MP, will also attend the media conference.
