EXCITING NEW EVENT TO SAIL INTO PORT STEPHENS

An exciting new must-do event has been added to the East Coast sailing calendar – Sail Port Stephens. Port Stephens looks forward to welcoming all sailors, their family and friends to the inaugural regatta in April, 2008.

From 21st – 27th April, Port Stephens has everything to offer the serious and not so serious yachties, from sheltered waterways to challenging offshore island courses. The breathtaking bays are ideal for all levels of sailors from the competitive elite to the most layback cruiser.

The week long, fun packed event kicks off with lead in races from Pittwater and Newcastle. Mid week the emphasis is on social activities, both on and off the water with the final weekend including the highly anticipated Yachting NSW IRC divisional championships.

With strong support from Yachting NSW, Port Stephens Council, the local business community and a professional approach from the organisers, this will become one of the great events on the calendar. Sail Port Stephens is also excited to have the services of Australia’s leading PRO, Denis Thompson. This will ensure all racing will be conducted to highest professional standard, allowing safe and equitable racing for all competitors. Thompson is one of Australia’s most respected yacht race administrators.
