Hunter's finest wines and produce showcased at Hunter Wine & Food Month this May

HUNTER'S FINEST WINES AND PRODUCE SHOWCASED AT HUNTER WINE & FOOD
MONTH THIS MAY

The inaugural Hunter Wine and Food Month will host a spectacular line
up of unique events throughout May. The events and activities will
celebrate the fabulous wines and produce grown locally in the Hunter
region.

Wine and Food lovers will be able to indulge in a number of 'must do'
activities that are exclusive to the Hunter region. The Hunter Valley
Legends Dinner, the legendary Lovedale Long Lunch, Hunter Valley Chefs
Luncheon, Duck Delight Dinners and Wine, Talk and Taste tours are just
some of the fantastic events taking place.

Rowena Hawkins, Business development Manager of Hunter Valley Vineyard
Association says "As Hunter Valley locals we enjoy an incredible
lifestyle of Hunter Valley wines, produce and world class restaurants;
we invite visitors to the region to meet the growers and chefs to
learn what it is that makes the Hunter Valley so special."

Events that will be taking place throughout Hunter Wine & Food Month include:

The Hunter Valley Legends dinner – This fabulous black tie event will
take place on May 29th at Wyndham Estate, Hunter Valley. The dinner
celebrates and awards those who have made major contributions to the
Hunter Valley Wine industry. Awards include, 'Winemaker of the
Year', 'Hunter Valley Rising Star of the Year', 'Vineyard of the Year'
and 'Cellar Door of the Year' as well as the induction of those chosen
to the Legends Honour Board

Wine Masterclasses Series – A series of masterclasses with the
winemakers of the Hunter Valley finishing canapé and a glass of
sparkling with the winemakers.

Hunter Valley Produce Tour (and lunch) – A hosted tour to meet local
producers, hear their story, taste their produce.

Hunter Valley Wine and Food Indulgence Packages – a two day indulgence
package to include accommodation, The Makers Table Dinner, exclusive
wine tasting of trophy winning wines and more.

Lovedale Long Lunch – Visitors can spend a weekend with seven Lovedale
wineries and seven local restaurants on a progressive lunch dining
their way around the Lovedale area enjoying live music, gourmet food,

Upper Hunter Wine and Food Fair – This Wine and Food Fair will feature
the best in wining and dining experiences the Upper Hunter has to
offer. The fair gives visitors the perfect opportunity to explore the
upper part of the Hunter region while you enjoy the fabulous food and

Olive Crushing – All the senses will come alive with the smell of
olives being crushed and made into fresh oil. Throughout the month of
May visitors to Pukara Estate & Adina Vineyard will be able to watch
fresh olive oil being made that will be available for tasting and
sale.

Dine Hunter Style – A month long promotion in local restaurants with a
dish featuring Hunter produce paired with a glass of Hunter Valley
wine.

Hunter Valley Chefs Sunday Luncheon – On Sunday 1st June, four of the
finest Hunter Valley Chefs, Andy Wright from The Cellar Restaurant,
Robert Molines of Café Molines, Andrew Clarke from Rock and Nick
Vivian from Hunter Valley Gardens will produce a mouth watering menu
featuring the local produce the Hunter has to offer. Hunter
winemakers will also be on hand to pair premium Hunter wines with the

The Winemakers Table – Thursday 15 May - An exclusive & rare
opportunity to indulge in an intimate dinner hosted by the Hunter
Valley Winemakers amongst in the winery barrel room. Aged wines from
the winemaker's cellars will be coupled with the first class menu
specially designed for the evening.

Duck Delight Dinners - Executive Chef Bradley Teale of Esca Restaurant
at Bimbadgen Estate has created a brilliant menu including canapés and
four courses of duck that uses classic and rustic cooking techniques
entwined with flavours from around the world. Esca is famous for
their large wood-fired rotisserie and char-grill in the open kitchen.
Duck is always a favourite on the rotisserie, leaving lightly smoked
flavours. The specially designed menu will be available every Friday

Tulloch Food and Wine Matching - Each weekend in May, Tulloch Wines
will have tasting plates available for visitors to their cellar door.
People who purchase a plate will be able to sit down and be guided
through the wine and food matching experience by one of the staff.
Each food item has been matched to suit a bracket of wine, so you
don't need to taste everything but tailor the experience somewhat to
your personal tastes. All the produce featured on the plate is grown

Walk, Talk & Taste Tour @ Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard – Who said wine
and chocolate does not match? On Saturday 10th May at 2:30pm the
historic Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard established in 1866 will be hosting
an educational tour around the vineyard to discuss soil types and
grape varieties at one of the most spectacular sites in Pokolbin.
Stroll through six blocks of vineyards and taste some of the wines
produced from the Vines and afterwards join the team for an exciting
chocolate and wine matching experience and discover what match it can
be! Delicious handmade chocolates from the Hunter Valley Chocolate
Company will be expertly matched with a selection of sparkling, red
