The Garuda Indonesia Inflight magazine is inviting photographers from Australia to participate in this year's photographic competition.
This year's competition will celebrate Visit Indonesia Year 2008 with the mission to encourage creativity in photography from the Asian region and hence promote culture through photographic experimentation.
Mr. Poerwoko Soeparyono, Garuda Indonesia said, "We are pleased to be able to include Australian photographers in this year's competition. It's a great opportunity to have creative work displayed in the Garuda Indonesia inflight magazine, as well as to enrich the photographic community, by providing inspiration to produce outstanding images."
The initial "qualifying" round will invite photographers from the Asia Pacific regions (ASEAN, Hong Kong/China; Japan/Korea; Australia & Indonesia) to take photos of their own region with the theme " My Home, My Country."
Four finalists from each Asia Pacific area will then be invited to experience an Indonesian photo shoot in August, beginning in Jakarta, and visiting five areas of Indonesia. This will be themed "Indonesia, the Beautiful"
First Prize includes prize money of US$ 2,500, and two Garuda Indonesia tickets to any Garuda Indonesia destination. Second prize includes prize money of US$ 1,500 and one Garuda Indonesia ticket to any Garuda Indonesia destination. Third prize includes prize money of US$ 1,000 and one Garuda Indonesia ticket to any Garuda Indonesia destination.
All Entries should be via the internet and will be accepted until 24.00 hrs. May 31, 2008. (Indonesian time - Jakarta)
