Hot Deals for the Cool Season at Capella – Lord Howe Island's Luxury Lodge

As thoughts turn to winter escapes, Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island has announced a range of Cool Capella Deals, taking advantage of the island's 'perpetual spring' climate, which is nurtured by warm maritime currents from the Coral Sea. Less than a two-hour flight from Sydney or Brisbane, Capella is the closest Pacific island luxury escape for Australian travellers.

Set in a pristine World Heritage environment and commanding jaw-dropping views of the island's twin peaks, Mts Gower and Lidgbird, Capella's intimate lounge areas are the perfect place to soak in the view or to cosy up for cool evenings by the fire. The lodge's contemporary suites (just nine of them) and fine-dining restaurant are the epitome of laid-back luxury.

From late May to mid-September, Capella is offering three special packages, all of which include a gourmet breakfast, sunset drinks and canapés and a three-course dinner daily; a spa treatment voucher, mountain bike hire and island transfers.

The '7 for 5 - Discover Tranquillity' package starts at $2750 per person twin share, including two nights bonus accommodation – a saving of up to $3420 per couple. There's the '3 night Indulgent Escape' package, which starts at $1650 per person twin share (a saving of up to $1000 per couple). Or the '5 for 4 Inspire Soul and Senses' package which starts at $2200, including a bonus night's accommodation, representing a saving of up to $1860 per couple.

Capella also has a 'Sophisticated Solo' deal, which recognises the growing number of single travellers looking for some personal indulgence. Singles pay only the twin share rate – there are no surcharges or fine print. A seven-night stay costs from $2750 in a Capella Suite (saving up to $4530) and includes a gourmet breakfast, sunset drinks and canapés; a three-course dinner daily; mountain bike hire and island transfers.

Born from a volcanic eruption some seven million years ago, Lord Howe is 11 kms long and barely two kms at its widest point. Two-thirds of the island is covered in lush, natural forests making it ideal for bushwalking, bike-riding and bird watching. And with 11 pristine beaches, it's easy to find an untouched spot to laze the day away.
